Today, I ran in the North West London League cross-country fixture in Greenford. I was representing my running club, and the race distance was supposed to be 2km. I had raced on this course before, so I knew what to expect. Last year, it was extremely muddy, and it was one of my first-ever cross-country fixtures for my club. I remembered how tough it had been, but I was determined to do better this time.
When I arrived, I took a warm-up run around the course to check the conditions. Just as I expected, it was extremely muddy, especially at the start. I knew that getting a good start would be really important. I didn’t want to get stuck in the mud or caught behind too many runners. My plan was to start fast, keep pushing, and try to stay with the leaders of the race.
Today, I was really excited to be running in the St Martin's School Relay with my school team. This was the first time we had entered a relay competition, and I was looking forward to seeing how it would work. Unlike normal races where I run alone, this event needed us to work as a team to win. It felt different, but I was ready for the challenge.
Our school entered eight boys, and we were split into two teams of four. Each runner had to complete 1.7km before tagging the next person to run. The idea was simple: the first runner starts, then tags the second runner, who tags the third, and finally, the fourth runner finishes the race. Our team discussed our running order, making sure we put each person in the best position to help us win.
Today, I ran at Rickmansworth Parkrun, and it was an amazing experience. I had heard that this course is much faster than other Parkruns, with some runners saying it can be 30 to 45 seconds quicker. Knowing this, I was both excited and a little nervous. Could I really beat my personal best here? As I stood at the start line, I told myself to stay focused and give it my all. The plan was simple—stick with the runners in front of me and push hard all the way.
As the run started, I settled into my pace and made sure to stay close to the runner ahead of me. It felt good to be running on such a fast course. The path was smooth, and I kept overtaking people one by one. Each time I passed someone, it gave me more confidence. Before I knew it, I was moving up the ranks and running much faster than I had expected. I had no idea what my exact time was, but I could feel that I was on track for something special.
On 14th February 2025, I ran at the Beechwood Park School Cross-Country race. It was an exciting day, and I was ready to give it my best. As the race started, I found myself in 5th place, staying close to the runners ahead of me. I knew the competition would be tough, but I wanted to stay strong and not fall behind too early. The first kilometre went by quickly, and I managed to push my way up to 2nd place. I was feeling good at that moment, but I knew there was still a lot of running left to do.
Soon, the course started to change, and we hit the uphill section. This part was really tough. I had pushed myself too hard in the first kilometre, and now my legs were feeling heavy. The hill felt never-ending, and I struggled to keep up my pace. I could feel the runners behind me closing in, but I kept pushing, trying my best to stay in a good position. The race wasn’t over yet, and I needed to stay focused.
