Loughborough Charnwood AC Open 9th July 2025

Today, I ran in a race on an athletics track, not a school one. There were lots of other runners there, and everyone looked ready and focused. I felt a mix of nerves and excitement as we all lined up at the starting line. I wanted to do my best and run as fast as I could.

When the race began, I set off quickly and tried to stay close to the front. The athletics track was smooth and flat, which helped me run well. Some runners were very fast, but I didn’t let that worry me. I just kept going and focused on my own pace.

During the race, a few people passed me, and I passed some too. I kept my eyes forward and tried to stay strong. It was hard work, and my legs started to ache, but I didn’t slow down. I knew I had to keep pushing.

As I reached the last lap, I gave it everything I had. I ran as fast as I could and didn’t look back. The finish line was close, and I wanted to end strong. Even though I couldn’t catch the runners in front, I was proud of my effort.

When the race was over, I found out I came 6th place. I was a little bit disappointed because I really wanted to be in the top five. But then I thought about how many good runners were there and how hard I tried. That made me feel better.

Next time, I’ll train even harder and aim to finish higher. I’ve learned a lot from today’s race, and I’m proud that I didn’t give up. I’m already looking forward to the next time I get to race on an athletics track.
